A transfer is not finished when it clears. It is finished when someone walks out of a branch with the money in their hand — and most of the friction in this business sits in that last mile, not in the payment.
Ask someone in Rotterdam to send money to a relative in Lankaran and the hard question is not the exchange rate. It is which of six payout networks has a branch near them, whether it is open on a Saturday, and whether that branch has the cash to hand over when they arrive. Getting that wrong costs the recipient a wasted bus fare and a second trip.
So we invert the usual order. The sender names a person and a place. We measure how far every payout point in that city is from where they actually are, weigh that against whether it has the cash to hand, and route accordingly — then hand them a pass carrying the reference, the place, the address and the time it will be ready, so nothing depends on remembering a number.
What it costs
Two charges, both shown before you commit:
- A transfer fee — from 1.49 to 3.49 depending on how they collect. Cash costs the most to hand over, wallets the least.
- An FX margin — typically 0.7% off the mid-market rate, and less on bank and wallet payouts.
We show the mid-market rate, our rate and the margin side by side on every quote. A service that hides its margin inside the exchange rate is charging you more than the one that prints it.
Compliance
Every transfer is screened against sanctions lists on both sides before it is routed. Some stop for manual review; those recipients see a page telling them so rather than a dead link. Payouts are made against a reference and photo ID matching the name the sender gave.
